New transcontinental routes for Singapore Airlines, Aeroflot and British Airways

Singapore Airlines will launch the world's longest non-stop flight route in October with a plane that offers no economy class seating. The airline will begin the ultra-long haul route on October 11 with the first flight taking off from Singapore's Changi Airport bound for Newark Liberty Airport near New York City.

Aeroflot has launched joint flights between Moscow and Buenos Aires as part of its code-share agreement with Aerolineas Argentinas. Flights to Buenos Aires now operate daily, with a transfer in Madrid. Aeroflot will operate the leg between Moscow and Madrid on Airbus A320/A321 and Boeing 737 aircraft, while Aerolineas Argentinas will operate the Madrid-Buenos Aires leg using Airbus A330 and A340 aircraft. Aeroflot and Aerolineas Argentinas plan to continue working together and in future to expand their joint route network by launching flights between Moscow and Buenos Aires with transfers in other European and American cities.

British Airways and Fiji Airways have announced a new partnership which should open up more routes between London and the South Pacific. With its idyllic beaches, world-famous dive sites and lush green forests, Fiji and its extremely popular island destinations are more accessible than ever before as customers in the UK will be able to travel from gateways in the U.S. and Asia to destinations that have previously been more difficult to access from the UK. The British Airways flights will connect through Singapore, Los Angeles and San Francisco on the way to Fijian gateway of Nadi.
