Thai Smile Airways joins Star Alliance

THAI Smile Airways has joined Star Alliance frequent flyer network as a Connecting Partner.

THAI Smile, a full-service airline and the regional wings of THAI Airways International, has become the second Connecting Partner of Star Alliance. Shanghai-based Juneyao Airlines was the first airline to become a Connecting Partner in May 2017.

It means that although it isn’t a full member, passengers travelling on a Star Alliance member airline and THAI Smile on a single booking will have passenger and baggage check-in all the way through to their destination rather than having to check-in again as would be expected on a connecting flight. Customers who hold Star Alliance Silver and Gold status in any Star Alliance member airline’s frequent flyer programme will enjoy the usual frequent flyer privileges too.

The Star Alliance network member airlines are: Aegean Airlines, Air Canada, Air China, Air India, Air New Zealand, ANA, Asiana Airlines, Austrian, Avianca, Brussels Airlines, Copa Airlines, Croatia Airlines, EGYPTAIR, Ethiopian Airlines, EVA Air, LOT Polish Airlines, Lufthansa, Scandinavian Airlines, Shenzhen Airlines, Singapore Airlines, South African Airways, SWISS, TAP Air Portugal, THAI, Turkish Airlines, and United. Further connecting flights are offered by Star Alliance Connecting Partner, Juneyao Airlines and now THAI Smile Airways.
