BA set to announce new nonstop London-Nashville flights

British Airways is poised to begin a nonstop flight between London, UK and Nashville, sources have told The Tennessean. BA hasn’t confirmed it yet but it’s believed there may be an official announcement next week. Nashville hasn't been a nonstop destination from London since the mid-1990s.

There is no word yet whether the flights start from London’s Gatwick or Heathrow airport and the type of aircraft, but speculation suggests it will be to/from Heathrow on a 787-8. Low cost airline Norwegian Air has be regularly launching new routes from Gatwick to various US destinations on 787s over the last two years, with nonstop flights from London to Denver being a notable recent addition to their long haul routes. With BA expanding too it is a good time for travellers who want direct access to cities that aren’t major hub cities.
