China Airlines to begin direct flights from Taipei to Northern Thailand

China Airlines is following up on the launch of its first Cebu service in March by adding four weekly direct flights to Chiang Mai in Northern Thailand from June 23.

The Taipei (Taoyuan) - Chiang Mai route will be flown by Boeing 738 aircraft with a total seating capacity of 158. Flights will depart every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. Flight CI851 will depart from Taipei in Taiwan at 07:30 in the morning and arrive at 10:20 local time. Flight CI852, the return service, will take off at 11:20 and arrive in Taipei at 16:35 local time.

Chiang Mai is the second largest city in Thailand. The city is known as a treasure trove of artistic architecture due to its many heritage sites and temples. In addition to taking a stroll through the historic city to experience the grandeur of the Lanna dynasty, the traditional cuisines of northern Thailand, jungle zipline tours, various natural sights and a pleasant climate all year round have all made Chiang Mai a top destination for visitors to South East Asia.
