Earn Qantas frequent flyer air miles with a good sleep

Qantas Frequent Flyer members can now earn Qantas Points while they sleep using the Qantas Wellbeing app.

Designed to encourage healthy sleep habits, the app was developed by Qantas Health Insurance. It incentivises their frequent flyers by offering Qantas Points (the name of the airline’s air miles) to limit screen time before bed, develop regular sleep patterns and better understand healthy sleep practices.

The ‘Sleep Health Challenge’ is the latest feature in the Qantas Wellbeing app that rewards Australians with Qantas Points for developing healthy lifestyle habits. Members can already earn points for keeping active by walking, cycling or swimming and understanding more about their BMI and blood pressure.

How it works:

  • Download the free Qantas Wellbeing app
  • Set your bedtime routine
  • Place your phone down at least 30 minutes before bedtime
  • Don’t move your phone until you wake up the next morning
  • Wake up with five more Qantas Points

The app also prompts Frequent Flyers to track how they feel upon waking. By reviewing their Sleep Health Challenge history, users can see how better sleep practices affect their mood.

Users can also earn an additional 20 Qantas Points for taking part in the Qantas Sleep Quiz – a 10 question guide to learning more about maximising your sleep drive, how diet and exercise affects sleep and understanding your body clock.

The Qantas Loyalty CEO claims Qantas Frequent Flyer is the first airline loyalty program to offer points for something as simple as sleep.

Qantas Frequent Flyers taking part in the Sleep Health Challenge will earn up to five points per night in the first month. After the first month the earn rate reduces to 0.5 points per night for members who are not Qantas Insurance policy holders.

Qantas Frequent Flyers taking advantage of all the Qantas Wellbeing app features have the ability to earn up to 3,406 points per year, with Qantas Insurance policyholders earning up to 20,000 points per year through the app. You must be a member of the Qantas Frequent Flyer program and be aged 13 years or older to use the app.
