Portuguese airline TAP launches six new destinations for summer 2017

As of June and July 2017, TAP Portugal will fly via its hub in Lisbon, Portugal to cities in three new countries - Toronto in Canada (pictured), Budapest in Hungary and Bucharest in Romania - as well as new destinations in Spain (Las Palmas and Alicante) and Germany (Stuttgart).

TAP will also increase flights from Manchester and London Gatwick in the UK to Lisbon. As from June 2017, TAP will offer two daily flights from Manchester and 11 weekly flights from London Gatwick, improving connectivity to its long haul network, which comprises ten destinations in Brazil, 14 in Africa and five in North America.

TAP says it will will further reinforce its fleet in 2017 with the addition of one long haul aircraft (A330), two medium haul aircraft (A320F) and four Embraer’s to join TAP Express regional operations, increasing the overall fleet from 80 to 87 aircraft.

TAP’s frequent flyer scheme is called the Victoria Programme and is part of the excellent Star Alliance alliance of airline loyalty programs. As an example of how much a flight may set you back in air miles, a flight using Victoria miles from the UK to Brazil via Portugal will cost you roughly 70,000 miles for an economy flight and 100,000 miles for a business class flight.
